I love this movie and keep checking to see if it's been released on DVD or better yet Blu-Ray! I saw it for the first time back in the 80's and will never forget it. I did purchase the VHS from an AMAZON seller a year ago and was extremely happy to find it here and receive it quickly and in perfect condition.

This was one of Aunt Nettie's favorite movies and I can see why...I purchased this movie and watched it with a few people and we were all crying. Loved it!

I seen a few of these in my day featuring Susan Hayward, her contemporary, Lana Turner, but this one, on a 1-10 kleenex scale, wins hands down. So sad it's not abavailble on DVD without benefit of bootleg. However this movie has it all. The classic beauty of Susan Hayward, the killer looks by love interest John Gavin and the villainous antagonist wife (execellent performance by Vera Miles) all add to a well produced film guaranteed to steal you away for 107 minutes. So typical of 50's and early 60's stlye films of this ilk, it is repleat with sobbing violin and over the top performances (the worst though is John Gavin's, although he looks wonderful doing it)
Dated? you bet! Scmaltzy? without a doubt! You'll love every minute of it though.
